What if you could learn to see in a different way?

aleximg2The E-Cafe is about exploring AHA moments, the art of observation, learning from one another and attempting to snag a piece of the illusive ‘it’ and “what if” factors…a life-long process.

Why do we see the way we do and how can we enhance our abilities to embrace or conjure new points of view if we choose…and what gets in our way of doing that?

As an artist I have some thoughts as to how we can ‘gather’ more ways of seeing and why that is so important in today’s world.

The original 18 posts were written in sequence. They can stand alone but reading them in order unfolds my thoughts more elegantly. They are listed under “Seeing in New Ways.”

The next group of posts will be more random in subject matter and posted under ‘The Conversation’…maybe things like ‘Find the passion or die’ or Do we have to find our passion?, The diversity factor, Teaching moments… and so on. We’ll see.

What do “I” see...and not allowing the so called ‘experts’ or peer groups to define your perspective. Trust your gut. You don’t usually need validation when you already know what feels right first. Notice your world from a centered place that [...]

# 17 Things that get in the way of seeing in new ways.

Many things get in our way of seeing in new ways. Our beliefs, however we arrive by them, our fears and the misinformation we buy into create a mighty wall around our ability to see the other side, to move from limited viewpoints to more expanded or global perspectives. Some of the following may be standing in your way of seeing in new ways: Fear of what other people think: Fear of what others think [...]

#18 What if it didn’t matter that much?

This is the last post in a series that has focused on learning to see through a new lens and gathering perspectives. I'm still waiting for my muse to come to me before my next post. When I consider the wonderful minds and the special creative talents of each of the individuals with whom I have had the privilege of sharing time, I am reminded that a kind of sensory acuity is developed by those [...]
